Adventures with the E. Motion Express: Anger Stop

The Anger Stop is the first module of the E. Motion Express series. During this module, children will encounter the Monkey King, an Asian storybook character with a notorious temper. The Monkey King has to control his anger to get past T-Bone, Dr. Hyde, Sergeant Steer, and Mr. Bullderdash, otherwise known as the Bully Boys.

The Anger Stop module has different helpful components, including the following:

CD-ROM
The Adventures with the E. Motion Express: Anger Stop CD-ROM is an interactive exercise in emotional regulation for children, pre-K through 3rd grade. In their roles as E. Motion Express Engineers, children help the Monkey King, a storybook character who is stranded at the Anger Stop because he cannot control his temper.

As the Monkey King confronts the challenges of the Bully Boys, the E. Motion Express Engineer is prompted for coping skills or alternatives to angry outbursts and negative responses. This CD-ROM is an educational tool that identifies anger as an emotion, recognizes the physical and social expressions of anger, and demonstrates effective strategies for anger management.

Guide Books

For Parents: The Adventures with the E. Motion Express: Anger Stop Guide Book for Grown-Ups offers psychosocial and educational explanations behind the events that occur within the Anger Stop module. The Guide Book for Grown-Ups details the roles of various characters as well as the objectives of the adventure. The challenges at the Anger Stop are clearly defined so adults may accompany children as they fulfill their roles as E. Motion Express Engineers.

For Teachers: The Adventures with the E. Motion Express: Anger Stop Educational Manual is a supplement to the Guide Book for Grown-Ups. This manual presents the scope and sequence for lessons as well as curriculum for the E. Motion Express series. Documentation includes essential questions, instructional indicators, and assessment benchmarks to help educators present lessons in the most effective manner.

PosterBook®
The Anger Stop PosterBook is a colorful and creative introduction to many of the characters found throughout The E. Motion Express series. The PosterBook® is both a children’s book and a poster. When children completely open the Anger Stop PosterBook, a vivid 24X36 inch poster of The E. Motion Express and the Monkey King is revealed.

Coloring and Activity Book
Consisting of 48 pages of activities — pages for coloring, connect-the-dots, word-finds, and many other fun games — the Anger Stop Coloring and Activity Book further illustrates the Monkey King’s challenges as he confronts his tendency toward anger and the provocations of the Bully Boys.
