Videos
CYKE
produced a series of videos for the National Institute
on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIAAA).
Real
Stories of Addiction
This video focuses on the lives of two teens addicted
to alcohol. The stories of Shannon and Jack reveal the
misguided assumptions many teens believe, such as (1)
only "at risk" individuals become addicts
and (2) experimentation is harmless. By witnessing the
struggle of these two teens, audiences will learn about
both the physical and psychological damage of addiction.
Under
the Influence
This video examines the issue of addiction among teenagers
and the contributing factors of peer pressure. Along
with offering a variety of coping skills that teens
can use to deflect pressure to drink alcohol, this video
includes interviews with former abusers of alcohol and
drugs, as well as discussions on why they pressured
other teens to drink.
Critical
Decisions
Every 30 minutes, someone in the United States dies
in an alcohol-related crash. This touching video addresses
the stories of two teens whose lives were devastated
by an alcohol-impaired driver. One teen loses her father,
while the other is handicapped for life.
